R. Sharath jois, 1971-2024
Join the FREE Ashtanga Mysore class this Saturday [16th November] led by Tamara Ashley in memory of R. Sharath Jois [the grandson of Ashtanga yoga’s founder, K. Pattabhi Jois], who passed away suddenly on Monday 11 November [2024]. We will dedicate the practice to Sharath, his family, friends and devoted students, and all beings' peace, happiness and health.
Altar offerings (flowers, tokens, pictures) are welcome. 🧘🏻♀️
Practice honouring the teachings, traditions and also your teachers. We can make our practice a prayer of love, peace, healing, gratitude and reverence for the benefit and happiness of all beings. 🙏🏻✨🕊️
Everyone is welcome to join the Ashtanga Mysore class, Saturday 16th November 8:00-9:45 am [the class runs each Saturday morning at the same time], arrive anytime to finish the practice by 9:45 am. If your practice is long, you can start before the opening chant.
All levels are welcome. All versions and variations on the sequence are welcome (Rocket, restorative etc). Meditation and relaxation are welcome. Practice sheets are available for both primary series and restorative.
The practice space is student-focused, quiet and peaceful. Tamara guides each student one-on-one with their practice. Every student has different needs and goals, which is well supported in the Mysore style practice.

Here are our Christmas / New Year open hours. We are going to be giving the studio a little bit of love and are re-decorating from 28th December - 5th January - we will be offering some online-only classes this week.
